Somebody Cares Aberdeen is a long‑established local charity, founded in 2002, dedicated to supporting people across the city who are experiencing hardship. It provides free food, furniture, clothing, and essential household items to individuals and families in crisis, while also running a busy foodbank and a large-scale donation and redistribution operation. The organisation focuses on dignity, empathy, and practical help—furnishing homes, reducing food poverty, offering reintegration support, developing volunteers, and preventing usable goods from going to landfill. Its work is rooted in the belief that the best way to help a city is to love it, and that everyone deserves comfort, respect, and a fresh start. On the day, an incredible 1000kgs of food was moved and donations organised just ahead of Christmas. It was both heart warming and amazing to see the impact that Somebody Cares has on the community. We were delighted to welcome representatives from 39 of these organisations in person, sharing stories, smiles, and the spirit of giving just in time for Christmas 🎄💙 This milestone is even more meaningful as we proudly announce that we have now reached an amazing £1.7 million donated to causes that make a real difference in our community🙌 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed, supported, and believed in this mission. Together, we’re creating brighter futures and spreading hope where it’s needed most ✨ 📸Ken Taylor

With a £2,500 grant from the Trades Widows Fund Charity, Charlie House were able to deliver: 🐣 A Family Easter Party welcoming 47 attendees with inclusive activities from sensory play to a bouncy castle. 🎅 Two "Dine with Santa" events in Moray and Aberdeen, giving 84 children, siblings, parents, and grandparents a relaxed, accessible Christmas experience with Santa. 📦 Postal craft & baking packs, ensuring families who couldn’t attend in person still felt included and supported. 🤝 Peer support activities, offering parents and carers vital moments of respite, connection, and wellbeing. In total, 85 individuals across 29 families benefitted - creating lasting memories, easing isolation, and strengthening community bonds. Thank you to Charlie House HQ for changing lives and having meaningful impact 🧡 This is the difference support in the community makes: inclusive joy, shared strength, and precious family moments. 💙
